WPCV Wafer Poppet Check Valve

The WPCV non return valve has developed into a global industry standard for lined poppet check valves suitable for use within a wide range of processes. Although initially launched as a true check valve and found in many applications, it also has been adopted as a simple pressure relief valve controlling nitrogen blankets on vessels. The WPVC is supplied as standard with a spring providing 14 millibar cracking pressure. Other values are available up to 100 millibar.  Wetted parts of Glass Filled PTFE, PFA and Hastelloy provide long service life in corrosive media. As an upgrade for very arduous duties the Hastelloy spring can be supplied with an encapsulated PTFE lining. In terms of the design, clever features include a conical spring to ensure that the spring doesn’t become “coil bound” on opening, reducing wear and enabling the valve to fully open. The check valve has a large open area minimising the pressure drop across the product. A removable seat plate held with a circlip enables the valve to be easily disassembled and cleaned or components replaced.

The WPCV is manufactured from a machined stainless steel body with a PFA lining providing a crush proof design.  All wetted parts are PTFE, PFA and Hastelloy. The spring assisted poppet ensures that it can be widely used in both vertical and horizontal pipelines. The PFA moulded body provides better performance than PTFE or PTFE lined check valves with the PFA being much more stable ensuring the poppet remains floating to function properly.
