The New Generation of PTFE Bellows

FluoroFlow Bellows

The New Generation of PTFE Bellows

FluoroFlow Bellows provide the highest pressure and temperature ratings together with high safety margins and reliable quality. These features are based on the proprietary and unique heat forming process which provides stress free PTFE material with a uniform wall thickness.

FluoroFlow Bellows have been tested by TÜV Süd Chemie Service and successfully passed a long term internal pressure creep test at 150ºC/302ºF. This test represents the state of the art in terms of replicating the effect of actual service life and forms part of the works standards for PTFE bellows at Bayer and BASF. This test requires the bellows to resist a test pressure at 150ºC/302ºF for one year.

The basis for the above test is a pressure increase test. This is not a conventional burst test but a slow pressure increase at 0.25 Bar per hour conducted at 150ºC/302ºF. CRP went on to test the bellows further and continued the test programme at both 100ºC/212ºF and 200ºC/392ºF. The results confirmed the outstanding performance of the FluoroFlow bellows.

All these actual test results have been the basis for the published pressure and temperature ratings. This ensures that they can be used safely within these limits and fulfil the expectations of our customers for Safety, Reliability and Performance.

In addition CRP has developed an FEA calculation method which highlights stress peaks within the convolutions and confirming the convolution design and generating spring rate data.

FluoroFlow Bellows are available in diameters of 1"NB/DN25 to 36"NB/DN900. For further information and “visual inspection” please visit us in hall 4.0 F65 at the Achema exhibition where we will be showing these outstanding FluoroFlow Bellows.
