Multi-branch Vessel Top Manifold



Most fine chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients are produced on multi-purpose plants which use a lot of glass lined reactor vessels with PTFE and PFA interconnecting lined piping.
Multi purpose plants have to be very flexible and able to be capable of frequent change over to produce various products.
Glass lined reactor vessels can only accommodate a certain number of nozzles due to the limitations of manufacture and the physical size of the lid to which they are attached.
Modern processes require a large number of entry points to the reactor to accommodate the complex chemical additions, condition measurement, nitrogen blanketing etc and with the limited number of nozzles available the only way to accommodate these up to now has been to construct manifolds from standard piping components but this involves a large number of flanged joints, additional potential leak paths and possible areas for liquid hold up.

In answer to these problems CRP has introduced a series of compact one-piece PFA lined multi-branch vessel manifolds which give the required additional nozzle connections without creating the space problems or risking process compromise that can arise from other solutions. All units are constructed with heavy duty high precision PFA linings ensuring that all flange connections are accurate and the lining thickness at the flange face is square so that all connections are able to be made without clashing.  The PFA lining and the design of the manifolds gives a very smooth surface finish and minimises any potential for liquid hold up ensuring that cleaning between batches and change over is as effective as possible.
The units are available in 80NB and 100NB line sizes with 5 branches of various size and orientations. All are suitable for operation up to 19 barg and for use under full vacuum with temperatures from -29 deg C to +200 deg C. 
Our standard design has flanges according to ASME B16.5 Class 150 with all drilling off true centre, but other configurations are available.
